EZ Lube has reached a 5 million dollar settlement stemming from cheating customers out of their money with phony claims of auto needs. Kudos to our D.A. for cracking down on these mechanical miscreants.

Anyone who has been to these quicky oil change places has found themselves on the receiving end of a laundry list of recommended auto repairs. It is amazing how the poor customers managed to get their poor tired cars into the shop for an oil change.
Consumer protection is an area of public safety that doesn't get enough attention. Let' hope some of this penalty goes to putting more inspectors on the street.
