Councilman Dimitru accompanied by his trusty sidkick, Denis Bilideau, are pressing forward with city ordinances against nuisance issues created by illegal immigration. Of course, loitering, drinking and/or urinating in public are done by college students as well as some illegal immigrants. But college students don't congregate on street corners flagging down potential jobs on a daily basis.
Sadly, Chief Walters doesn't believe immigration officials should be screening those in his jail. It is strange to find he is on record supporting it in the county jail but not his own.
You can't have it both ways. Either someone who committed a crime in addition to being here illigally should be deported or why have a border. Don't expect others to take our national borders seriously if we don't respect them either.
